July 2022 Update CEDAR GROVE-BELGIUM SCHOOL DISTRICT PROJECT PROGRESS REPORT BRAY ARCHITECTS PRESENTS SITE PLAN OPTIONS
We’ve been busy since the passing of the referendum. The District and our Architects at Bray have been meeting regularly with our staff and end users. As a result, a team of core decision-makers has been identified and meets with Bray and our Construction Manager, C.D. Smith, twice a month. Additionally, we have formed focus groups for the areas to be renovated. At the Middle/Elementary school, focus groups will look at the pool, auditorium and music classrooms, special education, and our cafeteria kitchen, among other spaces. At the High School, we have focus groups looking at our Family and Consumer Sciences classroom and the Technical education suite.
PLANNING & DESIGN UPDATE
Bray Architects just completed the schematic level of the design process, identifying the overall scope of work and fine-tuning how all the parts fit together. From here, Bray will begin working in three dimensions, creating models of the renovation for review by the core planning team and focus groups. This will help us ensure we have captured the renovation scope at a higher level of detail.
C.D. Smith is conducting our first budget check-in to ensure the scope of renovations aligns with the referendum budget. C.D. Smith will be working with the high-level drawings developed as part of the schematic level of the design. Periodically ensuring we are on target will help us stay on track with the referendum budget.
