Welcome to 3rd Grade at CGBES! I'm so happy you're here! I have been at CGBES since 2007 when my twin sons and I both joined the third grade! I spent one year in fourth grade, but have otherwise always remained in third. I attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids, IA, and received my BA in Elementary Education (as well as a BA in Music) in 1993. I have 3 sons who are all adults. One of them lives with a friend in the area and is a large machine operator. The other two are living with us and saving their money. One is an accountant and the other is an analyst. My husband and I are enthusiastic travelers, be it riding our Harley for a day trip, heading out for a fun weekend nearby, flying to another state to visit family or friends, or catching a plane to Europe to visit big cities. We really enjoyed the rich history and incredible architecture and art that we have had the privilege of seeing during our travels, as well as the beautiful countryside that takes our breath away. I also LOVE all kinds of music, eating out, and reading books.
Third grade is a time for learning new things including responsibility and self-control. We do cover many academic areas, but we spend a lot of our energy learning to be the best students we can be so that the 4th grade and the upper grades seem easier. We also spend a lot of our time being more independent in our work, but asking for help when we need it.
