Amy Schoeder

The CGB PTSO is proud to once again offer the Scholastic Book Fair to our district. The book fair will run from April 10th - April 14th during the day for classroom visits. The eWallet is available for those who would prefer not to send cash with their children to the book fair, please check out our Scholastic home page for more information. We encourage those who are able to volunteer for a shift to help out with the book fair.

Districts are required to notify applicants by June 9, 2023, on the status of their open enrollment application. Transportation to and from a nonresident school, in most circumstances, is the responsibility of the parent or guardian. However, some school districts may provide partial transportation. To assist in submitting open enrollment applications, a directory of public school districts is available on the DPI’s website. Additional information from an open enrollment consultant is available toll-free by calling (888) 245-2732, or emailing The Public School Open Enrollment program is funded by state general equalization aid transfers between sending and receiving school districts, with the transfer amount calculated on statutory provisions. For the 2022-23 school year, the transfer amount is an estimated $8,224 per student, or $13,076 for students with disabilities. Resident districts cannot deny a student’s open enrollment application for cost reasons. For more information on the open enrollment program, visit the Wisconsin DPI’s webpage.

● Students will be dual-enrolled via an articulated agreement between Rocket Academy and Lakeshore Technical College (LTC). They will not only graduate with their high school diploma, but also their 1-year Technical Certificate, and can also earn as many credits toward their 2-year Technical Degrees as they can before graduation. Coursework is self-paced and students will progress based on competency achievement. We anticipate some students will complete their 2-year degrees.

● The student’s daily school schedule will fully immerse them in a robust manufacturing and trades education. Though the coursework will align with specific LTC Degree Programs, students will coincidentally achieve their core high school graduation requirements.

● All Rocket Academy students will also be placed in a Youth Apprenticeship with a local partner. For a more enriching workplace experience, in addition to being able to work before or after school four days per week, students will also be released to their sponsoring business one full day each week in order to develop essential skills needed by today’s employers.

● Students will receive hands-on experience relevant to today’s local industries. By investing in state-of-the-art tools, equipment, and technology, students will receive practical training on machinery used throughout our local industry.

Students and parents interested in learning more about the Rocket Academy, contact David Friend at dfriend@cgbrockets or (920) 668-8686 ext 537.

A student info session, to be held during Rocket Block, will be announced soon!
