Welcome to seventh and eighth grade social studies and Spanish! I’m excited to be in my 22nd year of teaching, all at Cedar Grove-Belgium Middle School. I have a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in elementary/middle level education. I also have a master’s degree from Cardinal Stritch University in instructional technology.
Throughout the school year, it is my goal to have the students think critically about a number of issues surrounding our society, world, and history in my social studies class. Seventh graders will focus on political science, geography, and economics. Eighth graders will focus on the first half of U.S. history ranging from pre-exploration of the Americas through the Civil War.
In my Spanish classes, my goal is to introduce the students to a foreign language as well as the culture of the various Spanish-speaking countries. As a specials class, it is an opportunity for them to see if they would like to continue with Spanish in high school.
